Vaibhav Nagar is my home place. Here a Ram Mandir is very popular and Durga Mandir is very peaceful. Roads are bad. Coloniser has not paied the development charge to IMC, hence, it has been declared as "ilegal" colony. Land rates around 700/sq.ft.

My Aai It was a very cheerful morning in Columbus, Ohio on the 22nd of May this year when I remembered it was Aai’s birthday and immediately I with Aloke and Phuchoo wished her a very very happy birthday. Then I started recollecting her long and eventful journey of life, the ups and downs, the success and failures and my heart was full of admiration and pride because of her courage and dignity with which she sailed through it. Amongst her many qualities the best and foremost is her treasure of human values that she tried to inculcate into her children to the best of her ability. In this context a thought came to my mind about a very emotional incident that I would always remember till I live. It was when Dada, Raju and myself along with Aai went to visit a very close friend of hers who was passing through a financial crisis. There Aai taught us one of the most important human values of being sensitive towards one’s feeling by way of our considerate behaviour she expected us to show to her friend so that the lady should not feel even a bit of embarrassment for not being able to give the hospitality she could have given if she was in a better financial state. One more quality of hers which I always admire is her being a real friend, philosopher and guide to my father through her dedication and sincerity and moral support she showed towards my father who also very loving and equally dedicated and sincere towards her. I am very proud to be her daughter and love her very much. I wish her a very good health and happiness throughout her life ahead. SUNITA NANDI CALCUTTA

My Mother-in law Sudha Narayan Newaskar, its three names, one her very own, the second that of her lifelong husband and the third of the clan she married into. Today, she has turned into the grand old lady of eighty and I wish her many more eighties to come. Me, I am her senior son-in-law not by choice but by compulsion. But, to come back to her name, Sudha, her name and her very own identidity. Many a woman have I come across in my six decades on this planet and very a few have I seen someone like her. The more you pen about her it seems you’ve missed a lot about her. I may not have seen eye to eye with her on many aspects, yet I respect her attitude and visions of life. A proof of it lies in her single-handedly rearing her four children through all the thick and thin and high and low of those forlorn years of the sixties and seventies. And today if her siblings are what they are a good part of it should be accredited to this grand old iron fisted, tenderhearted lady called Sudha. Then comes Narayan, the name of her husband. Their coming to know each other and getting married is a part of history especially in those years when love marriage was looked down upon as a sin. A sin or no sin, but in the years to come I was to be blessed by the two most lovable in-laws. The two got on so well, it was a lesson for us all, and even if they fought; one would think they were debating a point of socialism. During their courtship or their early years of marriage someone wanted to visit Darjeeling and the other promised. But it just could not materialize. They were kind enough to let me to organize the trip in 1985.To let the cat out of the bag; the tender look in their eyes once on they were on the Mall was a feast of fulfillment. A promise of thirty-fife years had at last taken place and a few fireworks did burst out on the Himalayan sky ushering that this grand old couple well bonded, had something to smile about. Their eldest daughter and me are proud to be a part of this tiny yet an unforgettable history of their lives. Just at the turn of the millennium her husband breathed his last and flicker on the candlewick of their half a century of comradeship came to a sad end. Yes, she stood behind him, like the rock of Gibraltar in smiles and tears, in achievement and failures and highs and lows. She has lived to make Mr. Narayan awfully proud of her. Lastly her surname Newaskar, the family she married into. She has brought many laurels to the Newaskars of Juni Indore and that’s why all the Newaskars look up to her for advice and advice. She has always been at their doorsteps whenever a crisis developed and stood by side in rain, hail or storm. Hats off Mam. She is Sudha Narayan Newaskar mother to four bright children and a grandmother to six brighter grandchildren. “ When one great scorer Comes to write against your name. He writes not if you’ve won or lost But how you played the game.” ALOKE NANDI CALCUTTA
